MINUTES OF MEETING

The general meeting was held on January 9 at Panera Bread in Cedar Park.  In attendance were Dianne, Chaok, Lillian, Mary A, Valerie, Martha V.

The Treasurer presented a treasurer's report.

Romantic Festival

The Romantic Festival will be held on April 14, 2018 and the Chairman will be Valerie.

There will be separate certificate and critique sheets for the Spring 2018 festival.

The certificates will tentatively be prepared by Martha M. The certificates will be signed by the Festival Chairman.

Festival students may play a maximum of five minutes.

The critique sheets will be prepared by the teachers. They will be signed by the Judge. The critique should include the judgeś signature line, and the judge's name below his signature line.

The certificates and critique sheets will be organized into two piles at the festival in order of student performance.

2018-2019 Events

Tentative event dates for school year 2018-2019:

The Classical Festival will be November 17;

The theory test will be the second Saturday in November;

The Fall honors recital will be Dec 1 or 8 in 2018;

The Fall festival will be classical or contemporary and the Spring festival will be Romantic or Baroque The performances will be no longer than five minutes;

The Spring festival will be April 27 2019;

The honors recital and ensemble presentation will be on June 1 2019.

Notes

The ensemble admission jury will be held in April.

Valerie requested that chairmen respond to messages with their  Reply All option. 

All major decisions will be made at meetings. 

Mary A needs helpers with the theory test.  All teachers are asked to volunteer for the theory test.  Helpers are needed from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. 

At the Free Performance in March, teachers are tentatively allotted 15 minutes per studio.  To register, send names of performers and titles/composers of pieces to Valerie  two weeks before the performance.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Audition of Piano Guild

The auditions of the Piano Guild will be held tentatively on Saturday April 7 at International Studio of Music in Round Rock. The local web page of the Piano Guild is at http://www.yrose.us/wp/guild.html
