Dear Teachers:
The October meeting was held on October 11 at Panera Bread. Present were Martha M, Valerie and Lillian.
A
motion was made by Martha M and seconded by Lillian that the nonmember
teachers pay an additional fee of $10 per student for the theory test,
in addition to the theory test fee. The motion passed. This will take
effect in December 2016.
IT WAS RESOLVED THAT
Teachers who are
not members of Bluebonnet MTA and register students for the theory test
at Bluebonnet MTA must pay a nonmember fee of $10 per student in
addition to the theory test fee.
FESTIVALS
The chairman for the Romantic/Contemporary Festival is Lillian Simmons.
The judge for the Romantic/Contemporary Festival will be Lesley McAllister. Her biography is at:

Martha Marks. At 11.00.am. This will be a
pot luck lunch.

I. Local Registration procedure
The regular fee is $15 per student until Sept. 15. First you make a list of your students' names in a plain piece of paper and mail it to the SA Chairman Lillian. You mail a copy of the student list and the $15 per student payment to the treasurer Martha Vallee.
II. Updated On line registration
1. Update the grade level of all your current students.
2. Type in the notes section of each section the words "student affiliate"
if you want your student enrolled in student affiliate.
3. If the student is a transfer student, type in the words "transfer
from..." and then the words "student affiliate."
4. If you want a student removed from your profile, type in the notes
section "remove from profile."
5.. Add your new students to your profile by clicking on the "add" button.
6. Students may remain in your profile and not be student affiliate. Simply
leave their notes section blank.

I have had a Hymn Festival with my studio for decades... and it would be great
for BMTA
to sponser the event in the future. I try to always go along with the
group... :-) so will continue
to listen ...
However, until we do ... mine is usually in Nov or Dec (and I will be planning
mine this summer)
After the BMTA Festival - that is usually in November..... then I plan the
Hymn Festival for the 1st part of Dec.
Jan is used for Honors Recital and finishing up THEORY for Feb
This past year we had ours in December in order to include Christmas songs
Hymns can also include Christmas Hymns or songs about our Lord
and I often allow students to choose a hymn or Christmas song about "Jesus" .
My students
learn that "Jolly Old St. Nicholas" is a fun song but not appropriate for the
Hymn Festival, etc.

Dear Local Association Presidents and SA Chairs,
This email is being sent to inform you of some important changes regarding
TMTA Student Affiliate. First of all, Student Affiliate dues are
increasing by $1.50 beginning with the October 1 deadline. Please note,
that Student Affiliate dues have not been increased since 2005.
The changes for TMTA Student Affiliate dues from local associat
ions to the state are as follows:
Postmarked or paid by credit card by October 1 will be $8.50
Postmarked or paid by credit card October 2 - February 1 are $9.50
Postmarked or paid by credit card February 2 - April 1 are $16.50
Secondly, the Student Affiliate registration process will be completely
different beginning in the fall of 2016. At this time, Back 40 Design is
creating a members only portal on the TMTA website in which every teacher
will be able to log-in and register their students directly on the website.
Therefore, instructions regarding payment procedures and how local student
affiliate chairs handle things are still pending. Please know that we will
have these out to all of you as soon as possible.
